The Truth About Failure1

01 Failure doesn’t mean you are a failure… …it does mean you haven’t succeeded yet.

02 Failure doesn’t mean you have accomplished nothing… …it does mean you have learned something.

03 Failure doesn’t mean you have been a fool… …it does mean you had a lot of faith.

04 Failure doesn’t mean you have been disgraced… …it does mean you were willing to try.

05 Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it… …it does mean you have to do something in a different way.

06 Failure doesn’t mean you are inferior… …it does mean you are not perfect.

07 Failure doesn’t mean you’ve wasted your life… …it does mean you’ve a reason to start afresh.

08 Failure doesn’t mean you should give up… …it does mean you should try harder.

09 Failure doesn’t mean you’ll never make it… …it does mean it will take a little longer.

10 Failure doesn’t mean God has abandoned you… …it does mean God has a better idea!

THE GREATEST SUCCESS OF ALL0

“Skipper, a special message just came in for you from the admiral,” the sailor said to his captain as he saluted. “I have it right here.

“Read it to me,” the captain ordered.

The sailor read, “You are without a doubt, the most conceited, self-absorbed, EGO-MANIAC ever to command a ship in the United States Navy.”

The skipper responded, “Have that communication decoded at once!”

For some people, it’s all about them. For others, it’s all about you. Like author Leil Lowndes says, “There are two kinds of people in this life. Those who walk into a room and say, ‘Well, here I am.’ And those who walk in and say, ‘Ahh, there you are.’”

Which are you? Are you more focused on getting your own needs met, or on easing the burdens of others? Are you mostly trying to make yourself happy, or are you interested in the happiness of those around you?

Albert Einstein reminded us that “life isn’t worth living, unless it is lived for someone else.” And toward the end of his life, he removed the portraits of two scientists — Isaac Newton and James Maxwell — from his wall. He replaced them with portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Albert Schweitzer. Einstein explained that it was time to replace the image of success with the image of service.

Maybe the greatest success of all is when we realize that it’s not all about us. And maybe the greatest happiness to be found is when we share the happiness of others.

The Greatest Pain in Life5

The greatest pain in life
is not to die,
but to be ignored.
To lose the person you love so much
to another who doesn’t care at all.
To have someone you care so about so
much throw a party…
and not tell you about it.
When your favorite person on earth
neglects to invite you to his graduation.
To have people think that you don’t care.

The greatest pain in life,
is not to die,
but to be forgotten.
To be left in the dust after another’s great achievement.
To never get a call from a friend, just saying “hi”.
When you show someone your innermost thoughts
and they laugh in your face.
For friends to always be
too busy to console you
when you need someone to lift your spirits.
When it seems like the only person who cares about you,
is you.

Life is full of pain,
but does it ever get better?
Will people ever care about each other,
and make time for those who are in need?
Each of us has a part to play
in this great show we call life.
Each of us has a duty to mankind
to tell our friends we love them.
If you do not care about your friends
you will not be punished.
You will simply be ignored…
forgotten…
as you have done to others.

This poem was written by a young girl who committed suicide some years ago. Perhaps if the people surrounding her had shown a little more love, and had paid more attention to her, her death could have been prevented. Remember that when going through life, you can’t judge a sad, lonely, or suicidal person by their facial expression. You need to get to know each person you come in contact with, cherish your friendship with them, and show them that you care.
